In the 2026 edition of Best Colleges, US News and World Report ranks University of California, Santa Barbara as No. #40 in National Universities. It's also ranked No. #14 in Top Public Schools.
Students who attend UCSB and participate in athletics resemble students from all universities nationwide. They are required to balance academic rigor, travel schedules, financial stress, social commitments, roommate and friendship issues, family needs, individualization and self-actualization, vocational discernment, and more.
Working with and supporting student-athletes at UCSB gives us a window into how we might serve college students in a larger capacity year after year.

We are fortunate to be working with the 90 members of the Men's and Women's Track & Field team at the University of California, Santa Barbara. This group of student-athletes has taken a 25-question wellness survey designed specifically for college athletes, with help from former Division I athletes and staff members at the University of Washington.
Fifteen students have applied to serve on a Student Wellness Leadership Team, where they will serve as brainstormers/implementers/feedback loop for the projects and programs we initially offer.
